Looking for step by step instructions on turning off Slideshow - 11-12-2008, 12:03 AM

I'm looking for step by step instructions on turning off the Slideshow option in one or all galleries. I've been directed to other sites that give me one line instructions and doesn't tell me where to insert it.

You do not want to allow people to view your photos in a slideshow format or in the slideshow style?

Yes. I would like to disable the slideshow option in some or all of my galleries.

Yep, no problem. #31 on this page will help you get rid of the full screen slideshow button: http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=52811

Also, you can "force" a specific style for your viewers to see your photos and that will eliminate the Slideshow style menu drop down in upper right.

I'm doing something wrong because it's not working. Or I'm asking the wrong questions.

I put this line:

.play slideshow {display: none;}

in the CSS box. Is that correct?

When I'm logged in and I'm in a gallery, there is:

Add Photos - Tools - Themes – Slideshow

buttons and when I'm logged out or visitor view there is just Slideshow button there and when I click on the arrow on the Slideshow button another window pops up and it goes into a slideshow.

That’s the Slideshow button I want to eliminate or disable. Is that the Slideshow you're referring to?

Go to this gallery and see how I changed it for you: http://debhowe.smugmug.com/gallery/5...65121845_dHLno

You need to do that on every gallery you want the "Slideshow" to disappear.

IF you want some galleries to have Slideshow on and some off, then you need to put one of these lines for each Gallery in your CSS Field.

.gallery_XXXXXX .play_slideshow {display: none;} Replace the XXXXX's with Gallery ID
