Featuring Photos within a Gallery - 03-25-2009, 11:15 AM

Is there any was to 'highlight' certain photos with in a gallery?

For example, I have a gallery of photos from Seattle with something like 360 photos in it. I would like a way to flag 10-20 photos as my favorites of the gallery. It would be even better if there was a button or option for someone viewing the gallery to just look at the featured photos.

Hopefully that makes sense. I want someone to be able to either look at all 360 or just my favorite 25 without me needing to create a seperate gallery.

If not, is there a way for me to quickly copy an entire gallery? That way I could trim the copy down to be a seperate highlights gallery.

This is a good suggestion. We are talking about adding the functionality to allow your clients or yourself to mark favorites and create a favorites folder but we have not started working on anything.

For now the only way to do this is create another gallery and put your favorites in there and title it, Photographers Favorites or something.

Good to know. So is there a way to copy an entire gallery or would I be better off reuploading it?

under tools there is an option for making a copy, then you just click on the photo you want to copy, then you can move those copies to new galleries.

Yeah, you can do it that way or just reuploading it will be easier probably for now.

We do hope to have another option for this in the future.

True, but I figured if I could just copy the whole gallery and trim it I could do it quicker. Plus, as goofy as it sounds, I always try to make sure to move the copy. I know it is completely odd, but I just try to.

Any update on this?

My 6mo old has kept me very busy, so I have not been able to reupload galleries to make a "Best Of" yet.

I would absolutely LOVE it if you added this functionality to the galleries!

At some point we will have functionality to have photos belong in multiple galleries without physically moving the photo or a copy of the photo there. We know that is a big thing for people, but we are not ready to give out timing on that.

For now the best thing is to reupload or make a copy and move it.

No biggie. Just figured I'd ask. You guys have been busy with improvements and I appreciate that. I am now a POWER user and barely resisting the Pro user account.
