[img][/img]

Description:

The Sony SAL-30M28 30mm f/2.8 DT Macro Autofocus Lens is a compact and portable macro lens meant to introduce novice photographers to close-up image-making. Its cost, design, and overall size all lead the tyro to comfortably accessorize their kit lens, and begin developing a library of optics for their camera.

Note! Not compatible with 35mm or "full-frame" digital SLR cameras
  • 30mm lens (45mm equivalent in full/frame 35mm format) is an "everyday" focal length with the benefits of macro-ranged optical properties.
  • Focusing down to an impressive minimum focusing distance of only 5.1" (13cm) is aided by the inclusion of Sony's Smooth Autofocus Motor (SAM) smoothly driving the lens system.
  • 1:1 subject to projection size ratio gives life-size renditions of photographed elements

Performance:
  • Focal Length 30 mm
  • Comparable APS-C Focal Length: 45 mm
  • Aperture Maximum: f/2.8, Minimum: f/22
  • Camera Mount Type Sony Alpha, Minolta AF
  • Format Compatibility DSLR (APS-C Sensor)
  • Angle of View 50°
  • Minimum Focus Distance 5.12" (13 cm)
  • Magnification 1x
  • Maximum Reproduction Ratio 1:1
  • Groups/Elements 5/6
  • Diaphragm Blades 7

Features:
  • Image Stabilization: No
  • Autofocus: Yes
  • Tripod Collar: No

Specifications:
  • Filter Thread: 49mm
  • Dimensions (DxL): Approx. 1.77 x 1.77" (4.50 x 4.50 cm)
  • Weight: 5.29 oz (150 g)

Nice.

Bought this lens about 3 months ago and just love it. I use it on my A300.

I bought some of your glass off of Dyxum. Not sure if you remember me or not.

John

Absolutely, Hope your enjoying that Tamron. Hopefully the weather up there isn't too bad. The rest of the country seems to be having a fairly severe winter.

Haven't seen you on Dyxum .

It's been available for around 6 months. It is a DT lens so APS-C optimized. It has it's quirks since it uses the SAM micro motor.

I think it is fairly sharp
