good shots! i'm hoping to catch some ~6-8th grade games next season, just for practice and the experience. maybe since they're going 1/10th the speed of these guys i can get some shots as good as yours.

a few nits though...the couple with the batters in the boxes, they don't look level to me.

and was there some sort of smoothing/noise ninja'ing on the pictures? it might just be my laptop, but like on the one with the runner sliding into 2nd (i think?), the grass and dirt don't have any texture....along with some of the others.

I particularly like the sixth one. The position of his left hand, along with that expression... Ouch!

Nice action John. Is there a certain look you're going for with the post processing or were you trying to just remove any noise? Some of the skin of the players look like they have a lot of pp'ng to them and the umps almost look not real. Now if this is the look you're going for then you achieved it.

Hey thats James Gardner on the first pic.
Good job.
Take the advice and learn from Albert, he's worked with the best in PP while shooting sports.

Besides the liquid umps, some of that grass is the same color as the old turf in the Astrodome used to be.

And sometimes (most times) it's worth the extra time it takes to go in by hand with the burn and dodge tool on a small brush instead of using a lasso on a large area. It takes time, but it makes it much more subtle and you'll never have black halos from the "Hand of God".
