Wow, great shot.

Question: Does it bug you that you cut off the foot? I've heard from more than one sport photog that doing that is a killer.

Didn't seem to bother my editor. When you're shooting with a 400mm, it's hard not to, especially with the taller guys. I had a choice of a little bit of his foot or his head. Besides, I was the only one at the game poised to get that shot.

Perfect timing - especially if you were the only one in position to catch it.

Shhhhh, editors don't look that close. I'd be more worried about the editor running it with a vertical crop. :)

Bet the other photogs that were there wish THEY got the shot.... Nice capture.

I have taken the time to shoot some semi-pro baseball. It gets old waiting for them to swing some days, let alone get the money shot like that. Good for you! Guess that it shows to "be on the ball", huh? I know, bad pun..........

IMO, what makes the shot is having the ball in play with the bat breaking up.
I've gotten many shots w/ broken bat, but not many if any w/ the ball in view.
Diana, Great job as always.
