Surely someone must have a relative that's a Lawyer. I would have them make several "key" phone calls and see what happens.

I have never had anyone "stiff" me before but if it ever happens I would think small claims court would be much better than hiring a lawyer. I would request original amount owed plus a reasonable amount for the trouble and expenses. Just my two cents...

Well just an update from my end. I emailed Randy McIlvoy, turns out he is part of Vype and suggested maybe it was a different Vype since they apparently are regional magazines and each is owned by a different individual. He told me they had an excellent payment history. He also gave me the email of Matt Malatesta the editor. He told me Matt had paid everyone who had sent in an invoice.I then recieved a call from Matt along with an email saying he had not recieved an invoice from me. I called and got his answer machine and pretty much told him it wasn;t about the 20.00 dollars, it was just the principle of the thing. Long story short I sent and invoice, so we will see. Matts email is. matt@focuson.com or mattmala@aol.com. So maybe there still is hope. Maybe we can finally put this long running saga to bed. My apologies for any mis spellings, in a hurry.

I'm not impressed...my timeline, according to my e-mail, shows that he contacted me last June 18 about photos, I sent four high-res images June 19, an invoice on July 19, another e-mail about possibly working with him again, but no replies from him. I know there may have been a phone call or two as well, but again, no response from his end. I may have learned my lesson.

Yeah the record is just not very good. After stealing an image from us they never paid that invoice that I sent and then never paid for the one photo of ours that ran in their magazine. Personally I wouldn't trust the group one iota.

Finally SUCCESS, after emailing Randy McEelroy and then Matt Malatesta I finally recieved a check in the mail for the pictures I supplied.

+1 Congrats on getting paid! Getting paid for your work is a good thing...too bad it took so long. By the way, did anyone ever get a copy of the magazine those photos ran in?

I grabbed a copy at Academy a couple of months ago as I was walking out the door... they were FREEE by the Academy sales sheets. Are they supposed to be selling this magazine? Because they weren't at the store in Rosenberg/Richmond........

No contract for me...contacted directly by Malatesta regarding the images I had that he needed.

If you look at the very first post you will see that Diana Porter who shoots for Vype and who is a regular contributor to this forum asked for the photos for the magazine, $20.00 per photo used.
