Nice! #2 would be my fave. Gotta love the slobber slinging out of the bulls mouth. What camera/lens combo did you use??

Thanks Drew. The rider in image #2 was stuck on the bull and was flung around a few times before finally getting free.

I use a Canon 20D and and had a Tamron 70-200 2.8.

Drew I used my Canon 430 EX II For this. I did try some shots with the available lighting and the results werent very pleasing. I think that the new owners of Ristol Arena must have added some lights to the arena or they had they powered up because it seemed much brighter in there this time.

Is your Calf Roper wanting you to shoot indoors or outside?

I think hes wanting inside but I cant say for sure yet. He mostly rides down in San Marcos and Im pretty sure that is an indoor arena. Not a lot of outdoor stuff happening right now anyway.

you need to crop tighter and correct your horizon. The lines of the rails tilting distract from the image. Empty durt space lends little to the images. Take a look at some of these: SportsShooter.com - Special Gallery
I cropped all of them to correct horizon..

Exciting stuff. I think you have a WB issue. Arena lighting, ick we all hate it. I'm not a Canon guy so it suprises me that at 1/1000 and at the distance these were shot from that your flash would have much influence on these. Sometimes we just play the hand we are dealt.

You know what I always say, "When life gives you lemons...find someone with vodka and have a party?

I think they could all stand to be cropped a little, to get rid of the banners, crowd, and fence in the background...

Marsha Christopher is right. These were shot with a Canon 20D using a Tamron 70-200 f2.8

( I wanted to go back and correct the wb but just have not had the time)
