Those are great action shots, Jeff.....which lens did you take them with?

I really, really like the flying dirt - it adds a real sense of realism to each shot.

All shot with the 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR. I see this lens get knocked for being "soft" at the long end. I find that it is exceptional for daytime sports. Very fast focus, good length, excellent colors, and pretty sharp. It is also light and easy to work with - which is no small deal when you hold the camera for hours on end. As I get older, I notice that my elbows start to ache when I hold the camera with a heavier lens all day.
