State Fair of Texas 2010

Got a letter back letting me know I got 2nd place in B&W Sports this year. First time to enter.

I was asked, and agreed, to be a judge for the State Fair of Texas Photography contest this year. I didn't judge your category, but saw some very nice photos. I encourage anyone going to the Fair this year to visit the winners gallery. It's in the Creative Arts building.

At least the contest I judged was amateur, don't know about Robert - it looks like he is a profesional!
This contest had over 1,800 entries!

Thanks, I did look for a definition because I was concerned about that. I didn't find one in the State Fair rule book. So I went with the some I have read on sites like PPA, I don't make even 1% of my income on photos. I am now technically retired from government service. My Daughter entered 2 shots also her letter said she was 10th (like my other entry). I am not sure if that really is 10th place or just a catch all place for those that didn't place.

There are lots of categories and I hope to get up there and visit the fair and have a look at all the winners.

Robert, congrats on that shot! When I look, I smile, like the way he is taking off and pulling the guy behind him. All in mid-air with the shadows under them.
