Is that enough Fs? :
Abilene Christian Panthers vs. Amarillo San Jacinto Christian Academy Patriots
It was Homecoming at ACHS, and Amarillo was picked to win by 19 (somebody told me). One of ACHS's best receivers hurt his ankle playing basketball a couple hours before the game, and he's out for 3 weeks. 3 more starters went out with injured knees during the game, as San Jacinto did a good job of blocking and tackling at the knees all night long. It was a great game. Back and forth and hard-fought on both sides for 4 quarters. 6-man football at its best. In the end, ACHS came out on top 50-36, but it was MUCH closer than the score implies. Great game.
I met another TPFer on the sidelines, although I didn't realize it at the time. Greg Kendall-Ball was there during the 1st half shooting for the Abilene Reporter-News. Great to meet you, Greg. You should have stayed. You really missed some fireworks in the 2nd half!
It's tough getting wide views at 70mm!
It's Homecoming at Abilene Christian University this weekend as well. ACHS plays on ACU's campus, and ACU had a fireworks show last night. It made for a pretty unique football experience.
The fireworks on the field didn't disappoint either. Lots of great catches, runs, and hits.
Even had a blocked kick.
Freshman running back, Samai Massaquoi, lit it up. He scored 4 touchdowns - two on the ground and two in the air.
The cheerleaders enjoyed the show.
My daughter.
