I can't believe the regular season is over. I actually feel sad. My son played his last high school game. Those kids, some really big, were really crying as the game ended. They've been a team for years, and the seniors are done. I feel like I'm in mourning with my son.
Ellison defeated Shoemaker 47 - 14. Those kids were having fun though. The coach pulled the (senior) QB with a few minutes left because the kids put together a wildcat play that wasn't in the playbook or OK'd by the coach. They did score a TD on it from about the 12.
They also faked a point after. The holder stood up, faced the opposite goal post and two-handed threw the ball over his head, and over the scrimmage line, where an Ellison receiver was ready to catch it in the end zone. Almost did too but the defender was able to knock it from the receivers outstretched hands.
Here is a quick and dirty on one image. I won't have the time for a few weeks to work on the rest.
David Cobb, No. 22, diving for yardage.
I'm considering taking up shooting some basketball. I really enjoyed shooting football this year. Part because of my son, part because it was fun.
