I would definitely like to take the lens to a gym with better lighting.

Here are three more pics from last night. I had just never thought I would get good photos with a long lens in this gym.

I have shot midget hockey with a 400 before, if nothing else it is fun and challenging and you can get some killer emotion shots and close ups that are always salable.

Thanks Jason, Albert and Jeff. I had some real stinkers before I found a couple of good angles.

These are awesome shots! How did you get behind the goal on the first shot? I've always wanted to do that. Thanks for sharing!

David,

I would have thought you knew better than to take that huge lens to a BB game. Since I guess you will never learn, next time you come up here to shoot you need to just give me that lens so you won't be tempted to use it in inappropriate venues any more, I will keep it safe :-)

Nice shots as always!

@ Jeff and Lonnie: Thanks!

@ Bill: At that gym, there is an upper level with a few rows of bleacher seats on both ends. And mom did want a copy of that shot.

@ Allan: The next time I bring that lens up that way, it will be for an outdoor event. BTW, have they installed more lights at the Johnson? Evidently enough complaints finally got someones attention.

Well, baseball season starts up here in about a week and a half!

I don't think Johnson is any brighter, but I am getting less color shifts so maybe they fixed something.
