I didn't get my a55 for sports but I thought I'd give it a try for some baseball. All these were taken in the full auto 10 fps mode.

There are two limitation here compared with a more advanced level camera. There's a brief shutter lag. More serious the inability to control shutter speed in the 10 fps mode. The a55 consistently chose 1/500 sec. and adjusted the aperture and ISO accordingly. 1/500 isn't bad but it's too slow for some shots, as you can tell.

For a $750 camera, though, it's pretty good for sports. It's lots of fun!
