On the first 2, I followed the runner in servo & you can see it stayed on the runner in the 1st one & jumped to the catcher on the 2nd one. In these situations should I prefocus on the plate?
Also, on the cropping question I wanted to get the plate in both photos. Should I not have done so on the first shot?


The "conference" shot is just for my own Library


Good throw, just a little wide & late (really had very little chance of throwing the runner out).

What do you have your focus tracking set to? I would suggest -1 or -2 for shooting sports and that will help you in this situation.

Your absolutely right. I had read that somewhere(I think Sportsshooter), but in all my briliance it was one of the settings I didn't check before hand. (It was on neutral).
I need about 3 people who know what they are doing to follow me around & remind me what to do. LOL!
I guess a check list is in order!
