Critique: NC:

Enjoyed a decent ballgame with a bad ending last night! These were shot with a 200mm/2.8 from the second level & while not good they are the best "I" can do.

Wandy gave it his all for 6 good innings last night, but then there was our "bullpen".

Very well done. I didn't even know you could bring large glass into the bleachers. I am heading to minute maid in a few weeks too. Did you have special permission or is it just simply permitted by the gate checkers? Thanks for sharing.

Used to you could bring bigger glass than 200 2.8, but I heard last year they started cracking down on bigger lenses, but then also heard that it depends on who's working the gate. So I'm not sure what their official policy. I'm sure you could probably find it on their website.

A 70-200 2.8 with 1.4 or 2x wouldn't be bad during a Sunday afternoon game or early evening start with the roof open.

that's what I like about the 200/2.8: not so big to get improper scrutiny.

yeah, and the 200/2.8 part....

Thks for commenting everyone!
I usually bring my 70-200/2.8 LIS & sometimes the 300/4.0 LIS. The website now states 4.5inches in length, but until last year that was 12 inches. I carry an email from customer service which says 12 inches & if I have a problem, I will try to use it. I've been shooting from the stands (same seat) for 5 years now & was questioned one time, but not disallowed. I pretty much stick with the 70-200 now(except yesterday). I carry it in my bag by itself so it is not that attention getting. I will have a smaller lens(24-105) on the camera. With the 7D the 70-200 has plenty of reach except for the far outfield shots. As you can see from the shots last night, I missed the IS even at those speeds.

Nice photos Leon. I may have to take my 70-200 for a game or two.
