I found one on Ebay from a Houston seller. [$1879 with a Sigma 1.4x APO TC) Mine is the older - non DG - version but I was impressed by the focusing speed under the lights and most of the pics turned out well.
It is definitely heavy. It was a lot to carry hand holding for the hour or so I used it. It might force me to actually use my monopod. As reports indicate it's not really quite 300mm, more like 285. I'm anxious to try it on my 7D.

These subsequent shots in the burst were less will focused, and also at 12,800 (I was using auto ISO). I don't think it's the lens's fault.
