State Golf Tournament - 05-11-2011, 01:19 PM

Critique: CC:

Went to the State Golf Tournament following a couple of Victoria players. Shot with my Sony A33 and two Sigma lenses--a 70-200, and a 500. Auto ISO, 1/4000. Thanks for your kind critiques in advance.

First two are pretty warm, #3 is pretty noisy, looks like a pretty small crop too.

No. 1 - Action is late. You want to try and time it so that you get the sand just before it goes up over the face, hopefully with the ball just exiting the bunker.

No. 2 - It a fine shot, but needs a lot of post-processing work (as do the other shots as well)

No. 3 - Interesting shot with the bird flying in the background :-). Needs a tighter crop, especially if used for editorial purposes.

No. 4 - Again a fine action shot, just needs a lot of post production work done to it.

I shot golf for the first time in several years this year. Enjoyed being on the golf course again.

Thank you gentlemen...as for #3, I was about 130 yds. away, and that was the one I used my 500mm on, and still I had to crop it big time. However, I liked the action.
As for number 4, it was on page C4 of the 'Victoria Advocate' in today's issue.
I appreciate your kind words...I really enjoy photography, and this was my first attempt at golf photography. It was fun!
