Ball on or near bat - 05-15-2011, 10:34 AM

Critique: NC:

OK so I was reading this thread Where Jason (LSCSN) and others were talking about getting ball on bat and how they thought single shot mode was better than "spray and pray" mode. So I decided to try single shot and time the swing....I will now never shoot in spray and pray at batters again.

Another great example of why I love TPF.

1. My son! I never get good shots of him

Outstanding. I bet you are glad you are on TPF, I know I am. Glad that some of us were able to help...

Now that you have the ball on the bat mastered it is time to move on!!!

Be sure to take two or three more pictures right afte the BOB so that you can get the players possibly looking at the ball going over the fence such as in this one.

Timing can be good for some nice shots. I really like this one of bat flex

Timing can also help in getting shots of pain fixing to happen such as in this one.

Great stuff...

Bat on ball is even more challenging as you go up in player skill level... (and with a 5D, Spray and Pray isn't an option)

Last night, I was working on dropping the bat shots...

Jason, not sure yet. I had the first one I caught printed into a 16x20...this one is so much better it may have to hang on my office wall in a 20-30

Thanks Frank

Brad I remember going from shooting my son at 11-12 then going and shooting a Blinn Ju.Co. game and then a t-ball game all in one week...my head was spinning LOL

Thanks Fred...and I can tell you that you are in the right place to learn! Most of the tips I have learned from over the past 6 years have come from TPF! If I have a photography question this is my first stop :)
