Went to go see JV but they switched fields on me so Freshman (I think) it was. No other levels were scheduled but I know for a fact it was not the JV girls.

Saw these on FM, nice timing on the hitters. I think you have some good shots of the pitchers, but not caring for the angle.

When I've shot pitchers I've done one of two things. If I don't have field access I will try to get as close behind the catcher as possible and shoot through the fence. The other option, which I will use mostly is to get a position directly behind and slightly to the side of the catcher. I'll then take some shots while the pitcher is warming up between innings.

Was your positioning by choice or the only place you could shoot from?

Jim

You should show these to the coach he/she may find these valuable and let you have better access to the field or better angles at least. The first three show me that their head should be down looking at the ball. Well, that's how I was taught playing baseball.

Jim - Thanks for the input. Sadly our fields here really do suck. The backstop is a solid wall so you can't shoot through and there is a hill right behind that. Im basically standing as close as you can get without standing on the field behind the plate ump.

I could shoot from the dugouts but the way the fields are I would be stuck there the entire inning. I like to go from one side to the other for different batters, or depending if the play will be at 3rd or 1st.

Hopefully when the weather gets better they can change the schedules around and get the bigger fields used.

Lowell - I do keep in touch with the coach and some of the images are helpful. Most of the batters used to pull there heads completely away from the play. Ive even had a few pitchers dropping there lead leg sideways (easily roll ankles that way).

Very nice timing on the batters. I'm still trying to get that close with bat + ball!! Very jealous!
