2006 Rodeo Houston - Saddle Bronc Champ. - 03-21-2006, 10:00 AM

Here are my shots of the 2006 Rodeo Houston High Point Champion in Saddle Bronc riding, Shaun Stroh, riding "Multichem Rio Bravo" Saturday March 18th, 2006. This ride scored Shaun an 83 and high point lead which paid an extra $25K. Sometimes, the horse is more fun to watch than the rider. Unlike Melissa Phillip from the Chron, my shots of the last portion of the 8 second ride are all ref a$$ and not postable.

Wasn't that nice how the judge/ref would run right in front of you as the bronc came out of the gate, then he would run right in front of you again just as the bronc was about to throw the rider off?

That last shot is great. You know if you were working for the comical you could get on the dirt and then the refs wouldn't be in your way. Of course the horse might trample you while you're chimping

No comments on the video guy? Doesn't he look a little out of place?

I kinda doubt the judges knew or cared where any photogs were located.

Nice shots.

Sometimes the officials where aware of the photo pit, with a 400, 600 and 300 pointing from it. Other than those times, they ignore the pit.

I would love to shoot a rodeo with light like that.

Far superior to the small county setups around here. :-)

As you would guess from my user name, I love rodeo shots. These are nice.
