So back in the beginning of April John, Ralph, Rick and I took a roadtrip to the dirty souf. We spent 7 days climbing in a row. These images are takin at a place called Horsepens 40 in Alabama. Lots of history to this area and it is known to be one of the top 5 bouldering destinations in the US. The rock is sandstone, so there aren't really holds per say, more of texture and contact strength. These were the first four days of our trip:
1. Classic climb called Bum Boy. These features are very unique and specific to this area.
2. John attempting Skywalker
3. Ralph climbing Green Lantern
4. John on Man With the Slow Hand
5. Rick at the end of day one on Cuts Like a Knife (nice name for a climb huh?)
6. Me on Mulletino (photo by John)
7. John on Ghetto Superstar
8. One of the Yocals
9.John trying out Slider
10. Me with a Balero. I think Rick holds the record for 23 consecutive catches.(photo by Ralph)
11. Sequence of John on Great White
12.
13.
14. Rick on Centerpede
15. We stayed in this trappers cabin because we didn't have tents and there was a real bad storm on the third night that we there. Luckly it didn't flood as we probably would have been swept away off the side of the mountain that we were on.
16. John on Boomslang
17. Rick on Red Arrow
18. Me on Redneck (photo by Ralph)
19.Rick on Redneck
20.John on Redneck
After four days here, our shoulders and hands hurt, so we decided to check out another area called Rocktown which was only about an hour and a half away. I'll post more images of the trip later. Hope you enjoy these.
