First off. Most photographers have no idea how difficult shooting a boxing match is.
Usually bad lighting, or at least very harsh lighting. The action is fast and furious and getting the timing and the angle right is very hard. The ropes are there to mess up your
framing.

Your shots are really good. Very sharp, timing is perfect. Framing is generally really nice.

How did you swing ringside pass ??

Your exactly right about how hard it is. I never thought it would be so tough. I shot two fights and the first one I did not get much of anything from becouse of my timing. The secound fight I started to relax and think about timing and watching the fighters rhythm. Oh and glad you like the shots.

For the ring side pass I got it becouse I work with the local paper in Cleburne. Plus it helped I think that their were only a few photographers their. And even with the few that were their it was very tight.

Dude! Those are great!

Some of them may look good in B&W, although I like the color in these....

Nice shots...you avoided all the hassles of taking boxing pics...

You definately have to be right up on the ring to get good shots.

Thanks I may go back and do a B&W conversion on some later. If so I will post them so you can see if they turn out ok.

Ya being ring side helps a lot.

Those are great. Judging from your shots, it looks like Mr. "Death Row" took quite a pounding despite being way more buff than than the Vera guy. What was the outcome of the fight?

Well Mr Death Row is I think 5 foot 4 so he is rather short and stocky. His name is Marcus Hicks with a record of like 4 and 5 I think now. The other guy is Brian Vera who is 10 and 0 now. Marcus did really well early in the fight and Brian had to take a standing 8 count. Then Brian came back and got a TKO in found 5 I believe. I was the most exciting fight of the night from what the people that got to see all the fights told me.

Ya David I thought I better take the chance to shoot pro boxing while I had it. So few photographers can get in a ring side I think normaly its tough to the chance.
