Ball on Bat

Thanks Jordan and Norm for the comments. You know if you hear the "ping" on those aluminum bats it's too late. I wish they would go back to the wood bats.

Very nice shot. I've developed my technique to the point that I can usually at least get the ball somewhere in the frame. If I get the ball anywhere near the bat it's pure luck. Like the shot below - pure luck.

What I do is use the 'both eyes open' technique...and I can normally gauge pitches where I can get shots with the ball really close to the bat...here is a shot from tonight's Texas City vs Santa Fe softball game...Texas City won 3-0, and the pitcher threw 15 K's...
