I will be shooting a third round game this coming Saturday. It suddenly dawned on me that my regular press credentials might no be sufficient. I know I need UIL credentials to shoot the championships, but how about 3rd round games.
Thanx - I couldn't find anything on the UIL site. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

When I shot last year, the creditials I used for the regular season got me where I needed to go in the championship/playoffs with no problems, but if you want to double check, whoever you shoot for can confirm your media access...

If your shooting for a specific school, you can usually call their Athletic Dept and get them to get you something. I just swung by and got mine from Pflugerville's AD this afternoon for the game saturday.

It all depends upon the policy of the stadium's administrators where the game is hosted. Last season I was denied entry to a 3rd round playoff game at the Berry Center even with a newspaper credential. At the Berry Center they told me that I had to have a sideline pass issued through the school, even though I'd been shooting that team all season long. Then when I went to the State 5A Div. I Semi-final game held at Kyle Field in College Station, we thought it would be very difficult to get a sideline pass. They basically threw open the gates and let everyone on to the sidelines: parents, alumni, children, anyone with a camera, etc. If your school is playing in the finals at the Alamo Dome, or at Texas Stadium, Rice, or Reliant, you should contact the stadiums in regard to their policy.

Thanx for the feedback, folks. I'll be shooting in Laredo, so . . . .
I just hung up the phone with the school's AD. I think he was out of his league too as his school has never gone this high before, but he said my usual press credentials should do jut fine.
If they have a "must have a sideline pass" policy, I'm sunk - this school doesn't issue sideline passes.

Doug,
E-mail me and I'll put in contact with an editor who may be interested in your images and who can get you a media crendential, as long as you're willing to send him four or five web-sized images after the game.
