I bought an extremely lightly used D300 (<100 shutter actuations) via Craig's List for $1400. I love this camera, but haven't shot nearly as much as I would like since I got it.

Anyway - with my old D50, this shot was impossible (very poorly lit outdoor stadium) without incredible noise problems. I will get to know this wonderful camera over the next few weeks and months. I need about 10000 shots until it becomes and extension of my hand. The AF is awesome with this camera.

And the skin tones - whoa...

Just wait til I get comfortable!

Wish your Exif data was there to read to be able to check the vitals of this shot.... it is a good one.

Jeff, I'll second your post here. The D50 is a really good camera for the money but I found it to be very limiting in shooting sports. The D300 is simply amazing! I can't wait to get into baseball and softball to see how the D300 performs. Thanks for the post!
