Wood gets expensive. They make a good training tool, but the boy has chewed up a bunch of them. They are all just one mis-hit away from being firewood, yes even with the label right.

It depends on the player. I have used aluminum and wooden bats and love wooden bats much more. Use an aluminum bat and hit balls all afternoon and you will understand why. Plus, broken baseball bat home runs are cool. :D
