KG - Boston Celtics in Dallas - 03-23-2008, 08:48 AM

Hey everyone, this is my first week with my new D300 and I got the chance to shoot Kobe of the Lakers and Kevin Garnett of the Celtics! I didn't get many game shots but I did get some nice close ups during their pregame warm ups. I'm still learning this camera so I'm expecting my shots to get better as I do but for the meantime I'm happy with my first round of shots. C&C always welcome

D300, Nikon 70-200mm 2.8, F/2.8, ISO 1600, F/2.8, EC+0.3, No Flash, PP in CS3

This one's a little hot but I needed one like this and this one was the best one I took

Wow Albert, these are great! I have been toying around with maybe going to the D300. This may help me make up my mind. Was there any noise reduction in PP ? I wish I could talk you into doing a before and after PP on one of these shots ? No flash just stadium lighting ?

Thanx man, good to see ya. I just got the D300 last week and I love it but I need to get more familiar with it. No noise reduction was done to the shots. Just my regular pp work that I do to all images. If I have some time I'll post a before and after shot tonight or this week. No flash is allowed in the arena so no flash was used. Thanx again.

Thanks Albert! I may have to go with the D300, was thinking about waiting for the funds on the D3 but with shots like this I think I can live the ISO of the 300. Is there much difference between the two ? I am still loving the 70-200 2.8!
