It was homecoming, but I'm pretty sure he's not an alum.
I chatted with him for a while, and he claimed he was "just out to see the game", and lived not to far away.
I met him a few years ago and talked with him for about 15 minutes at some event we were both attending. Technically, he was attending--I was working. I don't think 5 people in the room other than me knew who he was.
Boy, how times have changed. For him, anyway. Me, nobody recognizes. (not a bad thing--if you'd have seen how he was gawked at.)

Yes, he was, and yes, I think it is.
Word is that the Cowboy's strength and conditioning coach has a kid at Coppell, and she asked him to come since it was homecoming. He said yes.
He stayed for a little more than a quarter and a half. Really, really nice guy.

67 million and he wears a wrinkled inside out shirt! Lol j/k,
I went to Weatherford, thats who Coppell spanked tonight (49-6), one of my good friends calls the games for WHS on the radio, he called to say that Romo was there, but couldnt figure out why since he was from WI. I think it was really cool of him to do that, I have heard nothing but nice things about him. I hope I get the chance to meet him one day

I heard an interview with him last year, apparently he and Jason both are huge high school football fans. At that point, he said that he went to a Friday night football game every week. Of course, that was when he first took over as the starting quarterback and people didn't know who he was yet but still, it is cool. It's easy to forget that these guys are just normal people like us. He does seem like a great guy, I mean anyone who is the starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys that would stop on the side of the road and help someone with a flat tire gets extra points in my book. That happened after he got back from the Cleveland game. I saw the couple that he helped interviewed on channel 5. She asked 3 times before he finally admitted who he was. Makes me proud to say that he's a cowboy with some of the players that they have had in the past.

Actually, since this is a sports forum (at the risk of hijacking this thread-sorry Tom), I'll post a link to a sports photo blog that clearly identifies him from several angles. The guy in the link has an interesting sports photography blog to boot. http://blog.seattletimes.nwsource.co...in_team_1.html

First off I can't believe I'm reading a post by "THE" Tom Manchester! Where you been?!?
Good to see you still shooting and nice job getting the celeb. Now where's all that 49-6 football action? Surely you got at least ONE touchdown (grin).

Can you imagine if Qincey Carter hadn't messed up, we would have certainly cut Romo. The cowboys were definitely on the verge of cutting him.
Talk about lucky. Romo, bailed out Coach Gomer Jones, it would have been the worst move of the century. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
