Texas Football magazine was denied credentials this time so I didn't get to go.

Don't know. I don't do the requesting. Magazines seem to be the last on the list though to get them. I was just forwarded the form e-mail from the Texans saying they were denied.

Try being a "web-based" production :). They are even lower on the totem pole than magazines, and there are some leagues that flat out what even consider web-based productions no matter how good the quality is or how professional the site is.

We were however credentialed for a Texans pre-season game a few years ago :).

I think I'll just start "Bob's Newspaper" and I'll probably get in.

Very few extra credentials were given out it looked like since it was an ESPN MNF production...there were 2 mobile camera platforms plus tons of handhelds from both MNF and NFL Films not to mention sound guys and tons of cable pullers..

I know the sports purists won't like this, but here's a couple of different takes on the game. I like to try something different once in awhile. These and the regular ol shots are in a gallery here.

Battle Red Day. I thought Super Mario would look better as a comic book hero. But since I don't know how to do that effect and didn't have time to look it up, this one will have to do:

My first attempt at a tilt shift/selective focus effect. I need to try this with an actual tilt shift. Probably would have looked better from a higher angle, but I like this too:

Troy how did you accomplish that last photo? That is really cool. Looks like little minature figures on a sculpture or something. Very nice!

Thanks Jason. Mostly, I did a quick mask then selected a gradient tool to draw a line selecting the focus area. Then I applied a lens blur. If you do a Google search on tilt shift effect, I'm sure you can find much better instructions and better methods than this.

Troy - You have some great shots in your Smugmug gallery. I especially love all the detail shots of the camera equipment. You did a kick a$$ job!

The bottom on looks like one of those vibrating table football games!
