SCCA Regional Race

I went to the Texas Region SCCA Fall Roundup race at Texas Motor Speedway. There was some nice cars and good racing. Still going through the photos and replenishing fluid in me, boy it was hot out there and no shade!!! Here are couple of my photos.

No I was just like any other spectator. It was really a great deal, five bucks and got to watch 2 days of racing. Of course, I didn't go the second day.

The way the track was laid out there were several places close to the infield road course for spectators. I talked with one of the race officials and he suggested this turn as having the best action for spectators. He did say that the best curve was just off the backstretch of TMS's oval entering the road course but I could not get on the infield portion. Oh well!!! Anyway there were a couple of other good spots. I'm just hard headed, I picked this spot and stayed there!!! I was sure surprised how good these drivers are. At my spot there never was an incident and it was a pretty sharp curve at the end of a short straight.

I found out a couple of other things for next year's race, bring an umbrella and cooler with water. It was hot and there is no no !!! shade.

Nice shots Bob. I especially like the 2nd. It must have been taken near the beginning of the Spec Racer Ford race as there is no body damage on his car.
