TX - Kingwood: Photography Studio for Rent (North Houston)

It's Official....

I will be hosting a Studio Lighting Workshop on July 24th from 10 am to 2 pm. It is available to the first 6 photographers that sign up. Since this is our first Workshop, it is priced at $50/person. If there are more than 6 photographers that are interested, I will open up a second day on July 25 from 10am to 2pm.

• Our Studio Lighting Workshop is a 4 hour class designed to give you the basics of Studio Lighting. It will cover:
• High Key Lighting,
• Low Key Lighting
• A review of different light modifyers (softboxes, umbrellas, strip box, octobox, reflectors, beauty dish, grid spot, etc)
• Basic metering with your light meter and also - how to get it right if you don't have a light meter and you need to "Chimp"
• Manual Camera Settings for the Studio Situation (ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, etc)
• A few surprises - how to shoot black background on white seamless paper

This class is limited to 6 photographers so that there will be enough time for everyone to get in some valuable shooting time. The class will be held on July 24, 2010. If there is enough interest, I will open up a second class on July 25, 2010.

Jerry (Rockin-Photos) has offered to find us some models for the day. While I can't guarantee it at this point, we will certainly do our best to make that happen.

Finally - Everything is included that you will need to walk away with some great images. We have 5 Pocket Wizards to fire the lights but if you have those, please feel free to bring them. Your only responsibility is to bring your DSLR camera, your questions, and the desire to learn and have a good time.

I have several models interested in doing this on a TPF basis. Hopefully we can have enough people to do this workshop on the 24th or 25th.

Effective August 1, 2010 the studio rental space will increase to $35/hr. Booking before August 1 will guarantee you the old rate - regardless of the actual date that you rent.

We are implementing the increase due to the expansion that is planned for the studio. The new space will feature a large, comfortable living room with a projection tv. It is designed to give the clients a place to view their images in comfort. Surround Sound will be installed along with a dedicated computer used to project images/slideshows.

The new space will also serve as a shooting area.

Thanks to everyone that has rented in the past and I certainly hope that you will continue to consider us for your studio photography needs. The new space will be fantastic!

just wanted to send a shoutout to john - super fantastic guy to work with, extremely knowledgeable and just a pleasure to have met him yesterday. the studio is all you could want and then some - the plans for expansion sound awesome - and yes, i'm jealous! haha.

Jon is a very helpful guy with a wonderful studio space. The rates are tough to beat too. I would definitely recommend checking him out.

Thanks for the kudos Janet and Matthew. As you may (or may not ) know, we have expanded the studio space. Pics will follow shortly. We have a new client viewing area with surround sound and 110" projection system for client presentations. I am super stoked about it.
