I think this is an updated version of the one in the similar thread. Apologies if not.

This is an inexpensive long zoom lens. It's a bit soft at the long end.
  1. Pentax K-x : @200mm : 1/250th : f7.1 : 500 ISO : Landscape Mode : 0 Exp Comp
  2. Pentax K-x : @75mm : 1/200th : f8 : 200 ISO : Av Mode : 0 Exp Comp

Is this the new version with image stabilization/vibration control? Or is it the older version without?

No, this is model A17 which does not. I don't see the need for VC in the Pentax mount, since the camera has built in motion compensation.

The one with built in VC is model A005 (and it's not available in Pentax mount unfortunately).

That's right--I forgot about the Pentax body having the compensation built in...

I'm considering getting the lens with the VC for the Nikon mount and I was wanting some feedback on that lens.
