Just got this lens in yesterday. Had it in my bag at a volleyball game. When I put it on the body, I got condensation on the inside of the lens on the front glass. That doesn't seem right to me. Think I should send it back?

Lovin' the new lens but difficult to get used to how wide it is. You have to get very close to your subject or you'll include your feet in the picture, lol!

Was your bag stored in a really cold car or room before you took it to the game? I always have to let my gear thaw out when I take it from my apartment into the houston humidity

Could have been. What was interesting is it happened when I got it out of the bag on to different times the same match. It hasn't happened since the first day so I kind of have stopped worrying about it.

This lens is on my wish list for Christmas (well, not really a "wish" list, more like a "this is what you're buying me, Honey" list). I can't wait!
I have a 17-70mm that I use a LOT, so hopefully I won't have much to get used to. My problem now is being too CLOSE when I put the 55mm on.

Bruce, those are awesome!
The EXIF data on the Milky Way shows 17mm. Weird

I'm going to find someplace dark and give this a "shot" :-)

I just ordered this lens and a couple of other items. I can't wait to get my hands on it. I am wanting it for landscapes. I hope I made the right choice. I bought this largely on
Ken Rockwells reviews. I thought I was going to go with the Nikon 10-24. I wasn't trying to save the money however that was a nice benefit. I hope I am not dissapointed.

I was always a devout (arrogant?) Canon only shooter.
I read the reviews, saw the stuff being produced with this lens and decided to go with it. I'm glad I did. Here are a couple of the first shots with the lens.
Late at night with one street lamp and a DIY "breadbox" flash. No HDR - just some playing around in LR3.
