36ft cigarette boat - 06-16-2009, 02:54 AM

not sure exactly what kind of boat (i know for sure it's not a fountain though), it's my coworkers friend's boat that he's selling. we just happened to be on the same lake, so i took a couple shots.

sadly i don't have a uv or polarizing filter for the big 80-400mm i'm borrowing so there's some haze . just ordered a uv though :)

Very nice! Yeah a polarized lens would make a nice difference for sure!

On another note, I would probably cry like a little girl if I took a ride on something like that! ;)

Actually, it looks like it would be a lot of fun.

Although the polarizing filter would have been nice, there is a certain quality that you have in the pic. As I see it, it represents just how dang bright it was out there on the water, so in that aspect, I really like the shot.

My wife thought my 1dmkII & 300mm f2.8 were expensive toys ! I suspect this boat could be traded for a nifty Hassleblad H3DII-50 and still have some change left over for some glass. Life is always about personal choices.

Great photos. I love being out on the water. (I prefer sailing though).

sailing eh? same coworker said the "j" on the sail meant it was a racing boat (he used to race sailboats growing up).

Nice shots and boat, you can take a lot of the haze out by using your photo software to adjust the RGB levels and saturation. This link does a good job of explaining the process http://www.lunacore.com/photoshop/tutorials/tut016.htm

Hope you don't mind, I adjusted your images a little.

no prob on the edits...

althought did over over saturate to get the water to look a little bluer. it was at the expense of the horizon being extra hazy.

and i don't care too much for the edits since the colors are way out of whack for me
