2005 Porsche Carrera GT: One of the most amazing days of my life - 07-22-2009, 12:11 AM

Next up: Lamborghini Murcielago LP640!

I had the rare opportunity to have a photoshoot up in Dallas with this absolute work of art and the crown jewel of Porsche. 80 years of racing heritage are all culminated into this one vehicle. The car sounds like a mother ****ing F1 race car and I thought I was at the indianapolis 500 when I was both driving behind this vehicle and listening to it while we were shooting. These are my personal favorites and the rest can be seen on my flickr page below:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/35785716@N05/

I know there are only 10 total but these are the 10 best images I could get. I have a few more solo rolling shots to edit but those will be given to the owner after I am done. You guys can check the flickr page periodically for them but I may even post them on here In my opinion, they are not as good as the one below (beside the tandem rolling shots I will post later). The tandem rolling shots are with a murcielago lp640, but those will be included in that set once I post it up in a few days.

I am assuming you used your Canon 5D 24-105 f/4L?

What kind of strobes?

Incredible shots of an incredible car. Number 2 has me thinking... The front of that car looks like a porsche, the middle section looks like a viper/57 corvette, and the back looks like an audi R8. Either way, I really enjoy looking at your work.

I used everything in my lineup. That image in particular was with the 24-105 F4L.

Strobes were one nikon sb600 camera right at full power and one canon 430exII camera left at full power.

Stunning photos. I like the one of the car turning with the background blurred.

License plates?

What is the consenus on license plates in photos of vehicles? I understand the privacy issue with showing the actual characters. However, I tend to prefer to physically remove the entire plate/plate frame or post edit them out all together.

Beautiful car, beautiful shots.

My question is sort of along the line of Greg's ... what's with having such a mean machine and leaving the license-plate bracket advertising the dealership on the car? That's the first thing I've done after buying one, even on my Subaru wagon!

we did not notice the brackets were on there. The owner had it into the dealership for warranty work and those people at boardwalk always put them on. We didn't notice it until after the shoot. The owner prefers to have his RUF Auto Centre brackets on.
