Might be the smallest HD Live Video Production Vehicle... - 10-15-2009, 03:12 PM

....in the world. There are other mini's with sattelite dishes on top but this is the first and maybe the smallest 4 person crew HD Live Video Production vehicle. My company is getting ready to drive this across the country from LA to New York to do demo's and stream events. It will do 3 camera HD production, stream live and do replay and slow-mo...all from a Mini Cooper Clubman. I help with the vehicles design, was in charge of the wrapping process and got to shoot the beauty shots. I also will be on the trip for most of the month it is on the road. (And yes, it drives like a top heavy tank!!) I will give more details if anybody is interested, but we will be streaming troops arriving home from Iraq on Nov. 6th in Dallas and also be streaming a radio show live from Texas Motor Speedway just before the Nascar Race.

Interesting story and nice shots. I'll be at TMS so I'll look for you. Also, I really like #2 but you might try it with a slow shutter speed to get some motion in the wheels and background - it would really make the photos pop.

Is this for PR or are you guys putting together some kind of show?

David, we manufactuer the broadcast switcher that powers this unit, the TriCaster. This vehicle is being put together and road demoed to show that you don't need a million dollar road truck to produce and stream live HD content anywhere. that with two small boxes and an internet connection you can stream anywhere, anytime. I am not sure where at the TMS we will be set up, but if you can find us, come say hi!!

If I was part of a 4-person ENG crew that had to use this, I'd hunt you down and punch you ;)

LOL....think clown car. No, really it's not that bad. The back seats have 15 inch flip down HD monitors and control panels for editing and replay mounted on the seat backs in front of them,
