Wow... the driver lost it like RFN... must have hooked up hard on one side and not on the other (something broke? like an axle?). Honestly... I was thinking photochop at first but it sure doesn't look that way. It would be interesting to talk to the photographer to get his take on nearly getting squashed vs getting the shot

Why does he have a flash on his camera? Is it common to shoot an unaided flash during the day at drag race events? I'm kind of curious about that

99 percent of the time its either a busted oil line OR a busted brake line, since there is no coolant in thos motors it rules out water. It could be a busted axle but they usually come shootin out the axle housing.

as far as flash its a fill flash to help with shadows etc, lots of guys do it. I shot down at HRP once and a guy had 3 sb800s setup in broad daylight but his stuff was good.

Thanks David. I guess I'm too wildlife-centric in my thinking Flash at that distance doesn't seem likely to be effective. Live and learn. Thanks!
