Thanks Danh. You are right, removing the rig is a challenge in itself. It would have been simplified if I had taken a picture at the very same angle and position before mounting the rig so that I can add a layer in post-processing.

Next time, I will. It will require my tape measure and exact coordinates (lol).

Good job with the rig and capturing the motion but the highlights look blown.

The trick is to position the rig at an angle to where it can be easily photoshopped out.

I'll give you an example from my blog:
What had happen was....: Phi's BMW E60

The outcome:

Similar rig Danh.
I like your shots.
Once I get the replacement suction cup, I'll be out testing again.

I don't mean to sound stupid but.... in the shots with the cars driving down the road, is there any particular reason you don't just shoot it from a chase car?

Other than the fact that it requires a second car and an additional driver? ;-)

they look great. The last one the brightness of the road, detracts from the car. My eye went to that first, then found the car. The first picture shows off the car better than the other two pictures. However each have it own element of depiction. Depending on what you are capturing and the purpose of the picture, depends on what you are trying to get the viewer to feel.

They are all excellent, just my opinion on each and the group.

No stupid question. As MrBeta mentionned, it requires more logistic and more manpower but offers more choices in viewpoint. I do plan on shooting from chase car but also wanted to have an alternative solution when photographing cars on my own.

A few years ago, my "chase car" was actually a remote controlled monster truck but I was shooting video footage.

Thanks Jen. You got it right, I was testing different "moods" for the pictures by shooting in locations with different street lights.
I'm looking forward to the Meetups.

I don't think many people in DFW have rig setups for cars. I plan to build one myself this year.
