Shooting brightly polished aluminum in the middle of the day, HURTS!

Just for fun, a short video of the P-51. LINK As I Can't Figure Out How To Embed A SmugMug Video? (help?)

I am very disappointed at the photos I took inside the air frames. Get the inside detail correct, and blow out the windows. Get the windows correct and I get seriously under exposed inside. Oh well. I will try and see what I can do in PS...

Thanks for looking.

Darn Duke, we must've been standing right next to each other! Here's my answer to your number 8 photo:

My apologies for not keeping my eyes open--I guess we were too focused on the P-51.

You've got some beautiful shots. I really like the shot from the end of the B-17 stabilizer. I also like the shot of the helicopter between the nacelles of the B-17.

I didn't see a man that looked like your avatar, nor wearing a western shirt and blue ball cap. There was a guy beside me shooting a Canon 7D though.

A Canon? Oh, heavens no! I looked at your video link after I sent the message and it looks like you got your shot as the airplane was coming in after a ride. My son and I got there just as one rider got out and another got in. Your picture and video may have been when that rider came back. The pic I took is when they cranked up to head out. Man, I wish I had the $2200 for a half hour!

Boy doesn't that engine sound sweet?

Posted from another thread...

I had the opportunity to have ramp access each night from Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Stinson to lightpaint B-17G Nine-O-Nine from the Collings Foundation. This image is a composite of 350+ images all lit up with only one handheld flashlight.

I have a B-24, and a Huey that I shot each night, but haven't put them together yet.

This is my first large piece lightpainting, and am pleased with it, although I still have some tweaking and fine tuning.

Thanks for the kind words! It sure was a lot of fun and three nights of trial and error! Now time to crunch the 1's and 0's on the Huey!

I would like to hear more of your shot process.

You mention that you took more than 300 captures, just how did you go about this.
