Warbirds at Stinson Field. (added interior shot) - 03-30-2010, 09:13 PM

I went out for a couple of hours on Monday and checked out the airplanes. It was the first time I've been through the B-17 and B-24. Pretty awesome experience.

Here are a couple of exterior photos...

The P-51C is a real jewel! I'm sure it take an insane amount of work to keep up with the polished aluminum finish.

B-17 on takeoff roll.

This is a view looking forward into the nose of the B-17 bomber. Just in front of the chair, you can see the famed "Norden Bomb Site". The bombardier looked through this device to locate the target, then engaged the aircraft auto pilot to fly the plane over the target.
