2002 RSX: Downtown Houston - 03-28-2011, 04:59 PM

Critique: NC:

Went out last night to practice a little more light painting. I found a garage with a great view of the Houston skyline and set everything up. There were a few overhead lights that I thought wouldn't be a problem, but they turned out to limit me a lot on the light painting aspect. I thought the shot wasn't going to turn out, so I packed it in without finishing painting the car and headed home.

I messed around with the composites for a bit though and came up with a result that I think looks pretty good. I wish I'd been able to paint the whole car, but I'm happy with how this one turned out. Dark? Yes, a little, but I really like the dark effect in this pic. I'm putting the before and afters along with some more info on my blog soon, if yall want to check it out.

CC always welcome. Thanks guys!

Nicely done. I like the skyline background for the car! Clean!

Cool. You found a great spot to shoot it! Mind if I ask which garage?

This definitely looks great.

I need to find someone new to shoot and get some more practice.

May I ask what you are using to light up the car for each shot?

Since it's such a money location that took a while for me to find, I'm keeping it a secret for now...Just cruise around looking for good locations, you'll find one!

Sure! I use an LED light bar. I posted a small how-to on my blog, linked here

Fair enough. I would have guessed LED by the color. I like it a lot. Worked fantastic on the silver car.

Yeah, I sometimes sleeve it with a piece of printer paper to achieve a more diffused look. It really does set off the silver of the car well though!
