Graffiti on Box Car - 04-22-2011, 08:45 AM

Critique: CC:

I took this a couple of weeks ago and didn't think much of it until I was playing around with it in Topaz Adjust. It was then that I noticed how interesting the graffiti is, and the line on the bottom "We are stardust... We are golden" I know it's from a CSNY song, but I can't think of the name.

At least CSNY's version didn't put everyone to sleep...

railroad graffiti is an entire genre unto itself. regardless of how you feel about it there is a tremendous amount of interest out there, some artists have quite a following. As a train nut, I've collected photos of some over the years.

I like what you did with this shot, the adjustments realy make it pop.

Is this an HDR shot? I agree with Ken about the colors popping, this is a great photo!

Thanks very much! It's not an HDR....This was one of many photos in the "reject file" that I have played with in Topaz "Adjust" that have gone from so-so to being my new favorites. I can not say enough about this program. You can get a free 30 day trial, which I did, and then bought for only 50 bucks. It's a PS plug in. It's amazing what it can do. It only took a few seconds of fiddling to make the colors and details pop. I never even noticed the words until I ran it thru Adjust, and when I saw it I knew I had found something special. I'm glad you all like it... I like it so much I'm going to get a print made.

If you buy the program you can use "stuckincustoms" for a discount. Like 10% but these days 5 bucks can buy, heck a gallon of gas!
