I don't really know why they call this a race. If you've ever seen hot air balloons, you know they don't move very fast.   No, that's not a composit. That balloon was the first to lauch after sunrise. I was looking around on the ground, and then heard the airplanes. I looked up, and that's what I saw. So I brought my camera up, and took the shot.  --------------------------- Some people hunt with a gun. I use a Canon. My Smugmug page. Some days you're the windshield. Other days you're the bug. |

Can't get better composition than that! I've been to a Balloon race too, yep... not much of a race! Were they doing bean bag drops at this one? The one I went to, they basically had to "race" down the MS river.. and try and drop a bean bag onto a floating platform as quickly as possible. |

I tripped the shutter as the first balloon lit up, and this is a 30 second exposure.  You can see some of the cell phones in the foreground that have moved.
