wings over tyler question - 06-16-2011, 08:48 PM

Hope it is ok to ask a question here. I figure it is transportation photography related?

I'm going to the Wings over Tyler show on July 3rd. The website doesn't mention anything about photography. Does anybody know if it is o.k.? I've never been to a show where you couldn't shoot photos. Also, is a camera backpack ok? I know some shows say no backpacks, but you can take a camera bag. My main (and largest) bag is a photography backpack.

Thanks for any help
Mike

Mike, I've never seen an airshow where they didn't allow photography, so I would imagine it would be OK. You may be limited in what you could do with the photos of some of the acts since they may be trademarked or copyrighted--but that's a whole other issue. I'm sure taking photos for your own personal use is no problem. To be sure though, I suggest going to the website and e-mailing the folks in charge. The airshow director is a fellow by the name of Randy Ball and here's his e-mail address (from the WOT website): randy@fighterjets.com
