Critique: NC:

In honor of the last shuttle flight, I figure I should post some of my photos from over the years. Sadly, they were almost all P&S in a dark OPF.

Finally, the amazing Shuttle on its way, lighting the night sky. 1/3200, ISO 200

Probably my favorite photo I have ever taken.

Not too many people get to see behind the scenes stuff like that; they really rework and refurbish them after each mission by what I saw in the pics. Great stuff.

There is a LOT of work between flights and each Orbiter would have an extended downtime to do major work every few years.

Aside from the great shots was the pristine nature of the work between flights; the landing gear was such that you could eat off of it. I have worked in civilian aviation for seven years before coming back into the military and have detailed landing gear with several cycles of take offs and landings and put back into service. It deeply saddens me as a soldier who defends our country to see the most steadfast example of knowledge and pure scientific exploration laid on the back burner to put our country back to where it was in the race for space in the 1960,s.
