Blackhawk in HDRish - 07-28-2011, 06:30 AM

Critique: CC:

I picked up a new camera a couple of weeks ago and had it at our motorpool adjacent to a small flightline that is used as fuel stop. So, I took some quick picks. Now its monsoon season and I have nothing to shoot. I'm using the trial version of Topaz Adjust to play around with and just added one of the presets to these pics just for giggles and boredom. Nothing fancy. : )

I like 1 and 5 best, the uncluttered backgrounds really make the helicopter stand out. I like the heat trails as well. The psuedo HDR effect suits the subject matter too. Nice shots!

Ha, I like how the exhaust out the back looks like a really bad photoshop job. Nice photos, but what's the problem with taking photos of rain?

Thanks, I normally shoot nature and bugs.lol I do have a Private Pilots License and have an affinity for aviation. HDR was a free trial offer and I figured what the heck.....even though it is pseudo HDR. It was something to do while the rain pours for days here during monsoon season.

The exhaust is the exhaust, I have sucked enough of that junk to know.LOL The problem with the rain is it's going on for days at a time and is taking lives. S Korea is a very mountainous region and the flooding and washing away of hillsides and bridges is taking people off guard. I used to love rainy days until I got here. I will never complain about the rain again. : (

Oh don't worry, I knew it was exhaust, I just had to do a double take when I first saw it. Guess I don't look at enough choppers. :) Hm, I didn't even think about mud slides, and it would definitely change your mind about the rain. Try to stay dry and safe!
