Various Classics inc. Elvis' '55 Cadillac : Back to a local billionaire's estate - 10-10-2011, 11:03 AM

Critique: NC:

Rather than bumping this old thread, I decided to go ahead and make a new one since there are so many new photos.

I took a trip back to shoot a few vehicles for the estate of a local billionaire. I was told that I was going to be photographing the "lower rung" of the vehicles in the collection. I was pretty surprised what was considered "lower rung" when I got the shoot list...The 11 vehicles on my list this time were:
  • 1932 Austin America
  • 1951 Studebaker Land Cruiser
  • 2005 SPEC Chopper & 1934 Ford Custom by Rick Dore
  • 1954 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup
  • 1955 Chevrolet 210 Hot Rod
  • 1937 Packard
  • 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad
  • 1968 Oldsmobile Toronado by Rick Dore
  • 1956 Lincoln Premiere Convertible
and last but definitely not least...
  • Elvis Presley's 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Limousine

As usual, all the cars were completely flawless, and I had a ton of fun shooting them.

If you'd like to see all the photos along with some more information and a time-lapse video of my processing, you can visit my blog.

On to the photos! In the order Listed above:

1932 Austin America

1951 Studebaker Land Cruiser

2005 Chopper and 1934 Ford Custom - Rick Dore

1954 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup

1955 Chevrolet 210 Hot Rod

1937 Packard

1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad

1968 Oldsmobile Toronado

1956 Lincoln Premiere Convertible

Elvis Presley's 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Limousine

thanks dale! i really appreciate it! i did do a light painting technique with my flash, using 4-8 exposures per car to properly light them. you can see the video of the processing as i go through the layers on my blog.

Wow, those are fabulous! Must have taken you all day to shoot that many. And I watched your video. You've got some mean PS skills! Interesting that you shot those inside a low ceiling with the speedlite pointed up. Looked like a big huge warehouse in the edited versions. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not a car guy....so excuse me while I get a paper towel to clean up the drool from my keyboard.
