BMW 335 w/ 19" Custom Rims - 01-05-2012, 01:20 PM

Critique: CC:

Got some new rims and took some pictures, now that I have them I plan to go "on location" somewhere and do a better shoot, hopefully sometime soon. I used my circular polarizing filter for the first time on this shoot.

All three pictures are HDR using three exposures. The first picture was taken with my Canon 17-55, and pictures #2 and #3 were taken with my wide angle Sigma 10-20. I did not like any of the non-HDR pictures as much as the HDR ones, I hope that they do not look overdone. I would appreciate any feedback on the pictures.

Also, these were all part of my fourth day of my 365 day photo Challenge, check out my site!

Thanks!

So with the comments for the CPL, I was actually using one, though it was my first time using it. I tried turning it to see some different directions of light being taken away, but it doesn't seem like it took all the reflections away. Is it possible I was not using it correctly? I could see the through the camera that the light on the car seemed to be changing as I turned the filter, is there anything else to look for?

thanks for the feedback!

A CPL will help cut glare, but not necessarily the images reflected off the paint. That kind of effect would look pretty flat anyhow.

I think your plan to find a location, where the reflections might be more pleasing than a neighborhood, is a great plan. The shots look great the way they are, too.

I love my Acura TL but some days I miss my 3 series. Your third picture does a good job of showing how BMW likes to put the wheels as close to the corner of the car as possible for handling ability.
