AMA SuperMoto Race in Galveston

Just started going through my images from the weekend. More to come!

The races were a blast to watch as well as shoot. Those guys are insanely fast! My buddy Jon, a competent road racer, raced in the amateur class and was completely wiped after just practice. You have to be in amazing shape to control those machines through such a tight course, not to mention the jumps.

The #1 Aprilia towards the end of the series is Darryl Atkins of the Factory Aprilia Rip It! team that we sponsor. Unfortunately, he had a bad run in with one of the doubles and broke both wrists, not to mention wadding the bike. However his team mate Ben Carlson finished 6th, which secured enough points for the season team championship going into the final race in California next weekend.

Last weekend. The pros raced on Saturday and the amateurs on Sunday. They set the whole course up in the parking lot of Moody Gardens. It made very a very tight and tricky course.
