Heh, I remember days like that. Out on my friends small 15ft jon boat. Sabine Pass jetties. It's amazing how much water they displace when they are coming at you.

I remember as a teen being fascinated being on the Texas City Dyke with my grandfather and a ship would be coming into the Texas City port and the water level would go down about a foot and as the ship got in front a small tidal wave would come by.

when i was in the coast-guard we would bring out the "pilots" to those big boys,
not fun, youd get along side and look up,,and up,,then the poor pilot would climb the ladder,
you feel very small bouncing against there hull,
